About the 2025-2026 programmers and the goals of GIFF

About us

Gippsland International Film Festival is spearheaded by Alana Auden and Edward Yates and aims to increase accessibility to film culture within Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.

Our goal is to screen as many and as varied number of short films to as many people as we can from the 13th-15th March 2026 in Gippsland.

Both Edward and Alana are connected to a large network of filmmakers within Australia, the UK and Canada from their experience working within the film and television industry as well as on student short films and independent film projects. They have produced and exhibited three of their own short films, two of which were made in Gippsland, so appreciate the challenges faced by filmmakers as well as the joy of screening independently made film.

Film has the power to change lives and we believe we can deliver a remarkable result to regionally based people living in Gippsland!

While the festival is currently focused on curating short films under 15 minutes in length, we are open to screening feature length films if there are filmmakers interested in our reach. Feature length filmmakers please get in touch for discussion.

Our Mission

Our goal is to screen as many and as varied number of short films to as wide an audience as we can in Gippsland.

We are proud members of Regional Arts Victoria!
